Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing 2 tbsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a bowl.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine 1 cup buttermilk, 1 egg, and 1/2 cup canola oil until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until moistened.
  5. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and layer half the batter, sprinkle 2/3 of the cinnamon mixture, followed by the remaining batter and cinnamon mixture.
  6. Gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter with a knife.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 50-60 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool the loaf in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. For the glaze, whisk together 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 tbsp milk, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
