Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine uncooked rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Add the cooked ground beef and sour cream to the rice mixture and stir until evenly combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 40 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Sprinkle French-fried onions on top and return to the oven for another 5 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
