  • 1/2 cup Tonkatsu Sauce Rich, tangy sauce for serving

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Tofu Katsu
  1. Drain the firm tofu and press it between paper towels for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Slice the tofu into even pieces, about half an inch thick.
  3. Prepare a dredging station with flour, plant-based milk, and panko breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  4. Coat each tofu slice first in flour, then in plant-based milk, and finally in panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated tofu slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with tonkatsu sauce and sides.
