Step-by-Step Instructions for Seafood Pasta with Linguine
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the linguine and cook until just al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water before draining the linguine in a colander.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic, chopped shallot, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in ½ cup of dry white wine, gently stirring to deglaze the skillet. Allow the wine to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it reduces slightly.
  4. Add the cleaned mussels to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cover the skillet and let the mussels steam for 5-6 minutes, until they open up.
  5. After the mussels have opened, stir in the prepared shrimp. Cook uncovered for another 3-4 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  6. Toss the cooked linguine into the skillet, followed by the reserved pasta water, fresh lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Mix gently.
  7. Plate the Seafood Pasta with Linguine immediately, garnishing with additional parsley and black pepper.
