  • 2 medium Potatoes cubed, Yukon Gold recommended
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 1 cup Tomatoes chopped, crushed tomatoes or puree can be used
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin adjust according to spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander adjust according to spice preference
  • 2 teaspoons Garam Masala adjust according to spice preference
Optional Additions
  • 1 cup Vegetables such as peas or carrots
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk for creaminess during the final simmer

Step-by-Step Instructions for Ground Beef and Potatoes
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 large sliced onion and sauté for 5–7 minutes until golden and soft.
  2. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger. Cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes until browned.
  4. Incorporate 1 cup of chopped tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of coriander, and 2 teaspoons of garam masala. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add 2 medium-sized cubed potatoes and 1 cup of water. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  6. Once the potatoes are tender, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered for another 5-10 minutes.
