Step-by-Step Instructions for Hibiscus Lemon Bars
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x9 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 1/4 cup of sugar until fluffy, then mix in 1 tsp of vanilla bean paste, 1 cup of flour, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Press the mixture into the base of the prepared pan and chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. In a small bowl, steep 1 Tbsp of dried hibiscus in 1/2 cup of lemon juice for 15 minutes, then strain.
