Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Lay the puff pastry flat on the tray, ensuring it covers the surface well.
  3. Score the puff pastry into thirds, leaving the center section intact for filling.
  4. Cut diagonally from each corner towards the scoring line to prepare for braiding.
  5. Remove the small triangle located between the center and outer strips.
  6. Spoon the lemon curd into the center of the pastry, spreading it evenly.
  7. Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cornflour until smooth.
  8. Fold over the alternating strips from each side over the filling to create the braid.
  9. Seal the ends of the braid by pressing the edges together and brush the top with a beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 17 to 22 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  11. Cool on a wire rack for about 30 minutes before slicing into portions.
