Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1.5 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Once cooled, combine the sugar syrup with 1 cup of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest.
  4. Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and churn for about 15 minutes.
  5. Transfer the churned sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for 1 hour.
  6. Stir the sorbet after freezing to improve creaminess, repeating every 30 minutes.
  7. Serve the sorbet in chilled bowls, garnished with fresh mint or basil leaves.
