Preparation
- Cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until combined. Gradually incorporate flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half. Color one half purple, leave one half plain, and color a small portion black.
- Roll out the black dough into a 6x12-inch rectangle. Roll out the plain dough into an equally sized rectangle and stack them.
- Roll the purple dough thinner, sprinkle with purple sprinkles, and roll into a log.
- Encapsulate the purple log within the black-and-white dough, rolling tightly to create a spiral effect.
- Coat the rolled log in sprinkles, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are set. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
Chill the dough adequately before slicing for clean layers. Use gel food coloring for vibrant colors without altering moisture content.
