Equipment

  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Sharp knife

Method

Preparation
  1. Cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing until combined. Gradually incorporate flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough in half. Color one half purple, leave one half plain, and color a small portion black.
  3. Roll out the black dough into a 6x12-inch rectangle. Roll out the plain dough into an equally sized rectangle and stack them.
  4. Roll the purple dough thinner, sprinkle with purple sprinkles, and roll into a log.
  5. Encapsulate the purple log within the black-and-white dough, rolling tightly to create a spiral effect.
  6. Coat the rolled log in sprinkles, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are set. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
