Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in kitchen towels and placing a heavy object on top for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the green beans and shallots while the tofu is pressing. Trim and chop green beans.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and coat with cornstarch.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a wok and stir-fry the coated tofu for 10-15 minutes until crispy.
  5. Sauté shallots and green beans in the same wok for about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the black pepper sauce over the vegetables, add crispy tofu, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  7. Serve over rice or quinoa and garnish with fresh Thai basil.
