  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Tart Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Adds texture and a tart counterbalance to the sweetness.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat together softened unsalted butter with both brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and apple cider to the creamy butter mixture and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the diced tart apples into your dough using a spatula.
  7. Form the dough into balls and place them a few inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and centers appear just set.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the tray for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Mix powdered sugar with apple cider in a small bowl until smooth to prepare the glaze.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over each cooled cookie using a spoon or piping bag.
