  • 2 pieces Green Onions chopped, yellow or white onions can work
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced, optional
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Ginger fresh can be used for more flavor
  • 1 dash Pepper adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce tamari is gluten-free alternative
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar can replace with apple cider vinegar
  • 1 drizzle Sesame Oil can substitute with other oils

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Proof Yeast: Dissolve active dry yeast and a pinch of sugar in warm water. Let sit for 5-10 mins until foamy.
  2. Prepare Dough: Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Create a well, add yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead for about 5 minutes.
  3. Prep Filling: Combine ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, pepper, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  4. Shape Buns: Divide dough into 6 portions, roll into balls, flatten, add filling, seal, and twist the top.
  5. Final Rise: Place shaped buns on parchment in a steamer, cover, and let rise for 20 minutes.
  6. Steam: Boil water in the steamer, place buns inside, steam for about 20 minutes until fluffy.
