Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water Opt for filtered water for best flavor.
  • 4-5 lemons Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed, avoid bottled juice for best taste.
For the Sweetness
  • 1/2 cup Honey Natural sweetener. Substitute with 2/3 cup of sugar if desired.
For the Spice
  • 10-12 teaspoons Fresh Ginger (peeled and grated) Adjust based on preference for ginger's warmth.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, grated fresh ginger, and honey over medium heat. Stir gently until honey dissolves and bring to a boil. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice. Allow mixture to cool for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a serving pitcher, pour in the remaining 6 cups of cold water. Add cooled ginger-lemon syrup, stirring well to combine.
  4. Refrigerate ginger lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill thoroughly. Optional: serving over ice with a lemon wedge or ginger slice garnish.
